What is an "illustration"? We use to hear background music which "emphasizes" the scene (mostly because the visual doesn't have enough power), but the most powerful effect sound has when it used in counter-point (music theory term).

Conflict as connection: remember our dramatic theory? Conflict is the engine of action. Eisenstein used DIALECTICS as method of understanding of counter-point.
