... 215 Dramatic Literature + 413 Playscript Analysis

summer 2006. Not yet. I am not sure that I will be writing new course in playwrighting. For several reasons:

I myself is not writing plays anymore.

Second, your learn (art) by yourself and from yourself. By writing. A lot.

And you learn from the masters. That's I do, I teach great dramas.

...

chekhov.us -- I like Chekhov's plays in English maybe more than in Russian. Because writer in translation gets lost and playwright (in Chekhov) becomes more visible. To see "new drama" in 3 Sisters is easy in foreign language, language you do not know. (Language as in Atistotle's Poetic).

Plot & Story

2007 ... the fundamentals of playwriting: plot, act-structure, character development, conflict, dialogue, and format. Through weekly lectures, writing exercises, and analyses students work toward the completion of a first draft of a full-length or one-act play.

What a piece of work is a man. How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty. In form, in moving, how express and admirable. In action, how like an angel. In apprehension, how like a God. The beauty of the world. The paragon of animals. And yet to me, what is this quintessence of dust? [ Hamlet : Theatre Before and After ]
