2005 updates: Small Chekhov Fall * "Four Farces & One Funeral" -- Chekhov.05
Chekhov's one-acts are updated -- The Bear, The Proposal (1st act -- Oh, Love!), Wedding, Tobacco (Act II -- Ah, Marriage!), but I'm still working on the "funeral" (Last Day of Anton Chekhov). mini-chekhov I am teaching DramLit -- groups.yahoo.com/group/dramlit (subscribe) and see THR215 for subjects, topics, titles. Spring 2006 -- Waiting for Godot, Beckett -- new pages ( see shows ) * Use http://vtheatre.net to link to Virtual Theatre pages! Notes
The biggest problem with my webpages is that they are not arranged in a strict linear manner -- like a book. This job is for another wave of redesigning! New way for you to respond! * Acting I : BioMethod
* Acting III : Method
** Stage Directions : Stagematrix
Why Theatre? Theatre provides undergraduate students the opportunity to express their creativity in an artistic and supportive environment. It provides an exceptionally broad range of learning experiences, involving the science of design, management skills, literary analysis, communication and organizational techniques... Did I mention acting?

Anatoly-Resume NOTES for You & for MyselfSept. 1, 1999. One year ago I started this site for myself and not even on my University server, so I don't have to worry about political correctness and copyright law. I thought it will be a freestyle Theatre Page. Now my actual students are required to use this site and therefore I'm creating a separate page for each class I teach. Go there for your assignments... and feel free to explore other pages. To understand how to use the site see FAQ, Guide and other service pages.There are THREE major direction you can find here: Directing, Acting, Drama (script). All of them do have "theory" dimensions -- and the new zone "Virtual Theatre" more than other traditional fields. Alas, it's all has "director's POV" in it, because I direct.
Directing & Directions
Director is an image-maker and any image is a final form of expressed thought. Directing as easy as writing poetry. All you need to know is the language. That's where the confusion is -- what language? (Student-Directors, read it!)
331 -- FUNDAMENTALS OF STAGE & VIDEO DIRECTING (THR 121 Acting pre-requisite)
Film majors, save our class-time. You can read the Film Directing page before you plan to enroll. There are two parts in this first directing class: stage and film directing. You decide which way you would like to go in Directing: Theatre of Movies.
For directors (majors) -- Stage-metrics, Theory. This Meyerhold's theory is practically unknown in classrooms. Since we never have enough time I posted my notes for directing classes.
The second part -- Film. Only basics. For film theory go to the Semiotics IFall Y2K: WWWilde -- subscribe!
