Color Composition

Color like everything else has cultural and historical forms, but we will stay with the formal analysis.

Color is a phenomenon of light. One might say a composition of light or "visible" light, because it is a moment when light meets matter... and that is how we can see space.

Colors appeal more than shapes to our emotions. Maybe colors are "feelings" of light and nature. Colors and sense of Time.

Film & Painting: Dynamic color composition v. static colors.
With the "motion pictures" color gained more independence. Before it lived in space, now -- in time. Within the frame of a painting one color had its life of associations, conflict and variation. Now the canvas is my mind!

Film-North: Color
Till Film came into being, Fine Art history paid not enough attention to the "light" -- the releations between the two are secret. Art.com for 200X.
In the digital medium (TV, computer) the light becomes even more tricky, because it's not reflective, but projected!
